New Delhi: One of the key moments of India's 2011 World Cup victory was how skipper MS Dhoni promoted himself ahead of in-form Yuvraj Singh in the World Cup final and scored an unbeaten 91 as hosts lifted the trophy after 28 years. That move was seen as a masterstroke and now former India opener Virender Sehwag has revealed that it was Sachin Tendulkar's idea to change the batting order.

During a conversation between the openers in the dressing room, Dhoni entered and Sachin gave him a tip. “So, finally in between MS Dhoni came in and at that time Virat Kohli and Gautam were batting. So, he told MS, if right-handed batsman gets out, then go for right-hander and left-handed batsman gets out, go for left-hander. After saying this, he went to the bathroom and then back out. And then Virat Kohli got out and in place of him (Yuvraj), MS Dhoni went to bat,” said Sehwag on chat show 'What the Duck'

“So, that was suggested by him (Sachin) and this was the first time he directly passed a message to MS.”

In the show Sachin also threw light on how he made Sehwag open up to him.

"I remember when Viru first joined the team, he would not talk to me. Then I thought this can't work, we need to talk to each other and if we are batting together I need to make him comfortable.

So I told him let's go get have some food. Before going, I asked him what he liked. He said 'Paaji, I am a vegetarian'. When I asked why, he revealed that he had been told at home that eating chicken makes you fat," Sachin said.

Sachin further revealed that he broke Sehwag’s myth, that eating chicken makes one fat.

Sachin said: "Do I look fat to you? I have been eating chicken all these years. I said, 'Come, we'll try chicken'. Now, Viru eats chicken," he said.
