"It was just generally a very euphoric environment because we began with Yad Lagla (a song from Marathi-language film Sairat on which Dhadak is based) and I remember asking Shashank (Khaitan) multiple times that 'Is it ok, are we getting what we wanted?' Because we were having so much fun that I forgot we were working," says Ishaan Khatter, who plays Madhur in Dhadak, at the trailer launch event of his Bollywood debut.
"It was fun and it was really excited to be in front of the camera. I remember I didn't sleep all night," says Janhvi Kapoor at the trailer launch event of Dhadak.

Janhvi Kapoor's mother Sridevi breathed her last on February 24, 2018, in Dubai where she had gone to attend a family wedding. The legendary actress is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor and their two daughters-- Janhvi and Khushi.
"The most helpful tip my mother has given me is to work hard and feel everything." said Janhvi Kapoor at the trailer launch of Dhadak.

Karan Johar has arrived to grace the trailer launch event of Dhadak. Earlier this year, the filmmaker-producer had penned a heartfelt note for newcomers Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. "It's a new year which means new beginnings and time for new relationship goals... Dear Janhvi and Ishaan, you are going to embark on a new journey of stardom this year. You will face many firsts in 2018 from promotion to paparazzi to link-ups and trolling to fame and failures. You are going to see it all. Through all of this, I just want to remind you to not take yourself too seriously and absorb every new experience because these initial days will never come back again," he had written.

On constant comparisons of Janhvi Kapoor with Sridevi, producer Boney Kapoor had earlier said that his debutante daughter has an individual style and is not trying to be like the late actress. “Janhvi has her own individuality. Fortunately, she is not trying to be (like) her mom. She is trying to be herself which is good. She (Sridevi) has been an iconic figure so more so being her daughter why should Janhvi ape her," he had said.
Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatter, who is also making his debut in Bollywood with Dhadak, shared an adorable picture with his co-star Janhvi Kapoor on his official Instagram. "Driving her (coco) nuts," he captioned the image.
Ahead of the release of Dhadak trailer, Janhvi Kapoor's brother Arjun Kapoor took to social media to share a heartwarming post for her. The 2 States actor began the post by apologizing to Janhvi for his inability to be present for the launch of her film's trailer and advised her to “work hard, be honest, learn to take the accolades with the brickbats, respect opinions” factors which would eventually help her find the profession of acting "amazing"
Dhadak shoot got over a while back and the post-production is on its way to completion. Now that the wait is almost over for the Dhadak trailer, director-producer Karan Johar took to Twitter to share another still from the film.
#momentsofdhadak #dhadak trailer coming shortly!!!!!! The magic of immortal love begins......presenting JANHVI and ISHAAN !!!!! @ShashankKhaitan film releases 20th JULY 2018 #dhadak pic.twitter.com/y8ll68edV7
— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) June 7, 2018
Expressing his excitement over the project, Karan Johar said, "we are honoured and excited to collaborate with Zee Studios on the official adaptation of the immensely celebrated and loved 'Sairat'. 'Dhadak' is Shashank’s third film post his Dulhania series and a true labour of love. We present Janhvi and Ishaan to the world today and can’t wait for the viewers to experience their innocence and magic on celluloid."
This is Shashank Khaitan's third film with Dharma productions. He has previously helmed Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, both of which have done exceptionally well at the box-office.

In a recent interview with a magazine, Janhvi opened up about what Sridevi told her after watching first 25 minutes of Dhadak. “She was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve -- she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me... 'You can't wear anything on your face.' That's all she told me, but she was happy."
The film has already piqued viewers' curosity, thanks to Ishaan and Janhvi's great on-screen chemistry.

The film, directed by Shashank Khaitan, is an adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film Sairat and is being backed by filmmaker Karan Johar under his banned Dharma Productions.
