The promotion for Race 3 has started on a unique note. The film is more in the news for the memes and jokes floating after the trailer than for being a Salman Khan vehicle. Salman playing a negative role or Bobby Deol’s return to mainstream ‘masala’ films had to compete with jokes about the film’s dialogues and lyrics.
The songs especially have the internet laughing. Sample these lines from the song Heeriye that was released soon after the trailer:
Heeriye Ni Nasha Tera Karke, Karke , Cut It Cut It Cut It ,
Ke Ranjha Yeh Tabaah Ho Gaya, Ke Ranjha Yeh Tabaah Ho Gayaa.
It was the ‘cut it’ part that had people confused in an otherwise well received song.
The second song of Race 3, Selfish, was written by Salman himself and was truly surreal.
Take a look at these lines:
Aao Ji , Mera Hath Thamo Ji
Mere Sang Sang Chalo Aur Wahan Baitho Na
Aur Thoda Wahan Tasalli Se
Apne Khayalat Ko Share Karo Na
Ek Baar Baby Selfish Hoke Apne Liye Jiyo Na.
This is a definite case of writing gone bizarre. Even Atif Aslam’s velvety voice couldn’t mask the absurdity of the lyrics.
The best was yet to release. Shabbir Ahmed and Shloke Lal’s lyrics in the title song is full of contradiction and oxymorons. For example, check out this line from the title song:
Junoo Bhi Tu, Nasha Bhi Tu
Talab Tu Meri
Mitaana Hai Tujhi Ko To Ye Zidd Hai Meri
Jaayega Tu Kahan Tujhi Pe Nazrein Meri
Main Kar Doon Tabaah Tujhe Ye Zidd Hai Meri.
This is fine but then comes the hook: Nasha Tera, Nasha Nasheela Nasheela Hai.
And you thought songs are about expressing feelings through poetry.
No wonder the next line is: Allah Duhai Hai. Phir Jaan Pe Aai Hai.
Lyricist Hardik Acharya and singer Mika Singh collaborated on the recently released Party Chale on, and it’s a crash course on what not to do in song writing. They have come up with most absurd lines in the name of tapping the youth sentiments.
See this:
Weekend Ki Partiyaan Ho Rahi Hai
Ek Mai Aur Tu, Sath Me Hai
Aur Haath Me Hai Tattoo
Bling Bling Karti Ye Lights
Aur Super Fun Ki Night
Hona Hai Jo Ho Jane Do
Aaj Poora Hai Apna Right
Bas Party Chale On N On N On.
These songs are a better match for Tera Pyaar Hukka Bar, which ruled the absurdity charts for months.
The internet could not help but marvel at the lyrics either, here’s a sample...

Allah duhayi from #Race3 is out and I can't believe my ears they screwed up with so bad so easy. There are bad songs and then there are these ones.
So far only Heeriye is the redeeming promotional material from #Race3
All the best @BeingSalmanKhan
