Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya de Silva, who had withdrawn his name from the squad for the West Indies tour due to his father’s demise, is reportedly set to join the team. His father had been shot down by an unknown gunman last month. Earlier, Dhananjaya had revealed that he won’t be a part of the squad touring West Indies. But according to ESPNCricinfo, the 26-year-old is now set to join the team after his father’s funeral. He will not be a part of the first Test though, that starts on Wednesday. He will only be available from the second Test.

Dhananjaya’s father, Ranjan, a local politician was shot dead in a suburb of Colombo, around midnight last month. The shooting happened just a day before he was scheduled to fly to the West Indies.

Lanka will play three-match Test series against Windies from June 6. The teams are currently playing a 3-day warm up game. Dhananjaya has played 13 Tests for his side, and scored 1,066 runs at an average of 46.34.
