The trailer of Rajkumar Hirani's much-awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju, is here. Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of one of Bollywood's most popular and controversial actors. From introducing fans to his early life as the son of veteran actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt to his dark times in the world of drugs and the infamous 1993 bomb blast controversy, the film touches upon everything known and lesser known about the actor. While the teaser of the film has already garnered a positive response from the fans and industry insiders, the trailer buzz has been immense. Trailer launch od Sanju is a star-studded affair with Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal attending the event along with Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Ranbir Kapoor's favourite look in the film is that of coming out the Yarwada jail. Dutt, who was jailed in an arms case related to the 1993 Mumbai blasts was released from Yerwada Central prison in Pune in February 2016. Dressed in blue shirt and pair of denims, a bearded Sanjay Dutt with a tilak on his forehead stepped out of the prison. Ranbir has recreated the look in the film.
Vidhu Vinod denied when asked if the movie’s main agenda was to clear Sanju’s image of a terrorist. "The film tells the story as it is. What was good has been shown as good and what was bad has been shown as bad," added Rajkumar Hirani
The film will see Manisha Koirala in the commericial scene again. The actor is playing the role of Dutt's mother Nargis. When asked about her takeaway from the film Manisha said that when she finished the film, Sanjay messaged her saying that she reminded him of Nargis.
And the wait is over! The trailer of Sanju is here and though dark and grim a story, Hirani has not forgotten to put his touch of 'optimism' in the film while depicting Dutt's life.
"Doing this film was a win-win situation for me as I was getting a chance to work with Hirani ji and my favourite actor Ranbir Kapoor," says Paresh Rawal. Rawal will be seen portraying the role of Sanjay's father and veteran actor Sunil Dutt. Interestingly the role was first offered to Aamir Khan.
The film boasts of an impressive cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal and Manisha Koirala. Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios, Sanju is all set to hit theatres on June 29 2018.
By the looks of the teaser, the story seems compelling, documenting Sanjay Dutt’s life. Music and background score is impressive.
Anushka looks completely different with curly hair in Sanju. Director Rajkumar Hirani shared the poster on his official Twitter account. Not much is known about her role in the film, but speculation is rife that she will be portraying the role of a reporter/biographer in the film.

The stage is set for Sanju trailer. "Once in a lifetime comes such a special story. It’s so true but it’s so rare." says Fox Star CEO Vijay Singh. The event sees the presence of producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra who says, "When we say Ranbir has acted great, please remember an actor is reacting to the other actors. All the actors, Paresh, Sonam, Vicky, Manisha have made this film possible."

Sonam Kapoor was introduced as part of Sanjay Dutt's crazy romantic life.The poster sees Ranbir Kapoor as a teenage Sanjay, as Sonam stands behind him in a rather jolly mood. Not much is known about Sonam's role in the film and it is said that her credit would that be of a guest star. The actor's schedule was wrapped up in four days and her role is said to be pivotal in Sanju's life-story.

Director Rajkumar Hirani, who is credited for reviving Sanjay's career in the 2000s with Munnabhai MBBS, started working on the project while directing PK and Ranbir was his first choice to play the character. Hirani, took to Twitter to share various images of Ranbir as Dutt from various years, before announcing the trailer release date.
Bollywood's original bad boy, Sanjay Dutt, has lived an off-screen life that is the stuff of movies, with sorrow, scandal and salaciousness to satiate the most vicarious souls. Small wonder then, that the news of his upcoming biopic has got everyone's ears pricked. The first look of Ranbir as Sanjay Dutt garnered a positive response from the actor's fans and people within the industry.
